Happy New Year!
At the requests of several clients and many young teens who have seen my work, I have embarked on the challenge of horses. I’ve asked many horse people, “When the filly is not beside the mare is she in front or behind?” No one seemed to know. So, I decided she’d want to keep her young one in sight…. the filly is in front. I could not put her beside the mare as the 2 animals would melt together in the confusion of eatable goodies.
“Filly and Mare” are making progress while the weather outside my studio is very white with lots of new snow falling on a daily basis. Our weather has been so cold that it’s only been the past 3 days that my dog would even consider a small hike.
While chatting with many horse owners I’ve found that horses will eat just about anything, but I’ve tried to stick with the basics. If you have any suggestions for contents of the body of the horses please send me an email and I’ll try to work them in.
The photos at the top of the ‘8 romping legs’ are my stacks of research images, not all will be included. It’s a matter of what fits where.
If you look carefully you’ll see the light graphite lines of the roses around the filly’s neck and her eye. And, on the mare the delicious red beet with it’s leaves as part of the mane.
I’m hoping you’ll have a healthy and happy 2017.
